During their recent volunteering effort, the Triangle Realty Serve Team focused on the Maverick Boys & Girls Club of Amarillo. They dedicated their time to breaking down old bleachers that were no longer in use. This act not only eliminated a potential safety hazard but also paved the way for the club to repurpose the area as an exercise space with a large projector screen, encouraging active play and incorporating gaming into fitness routines.
The Maverick Boys & Girls Club has a rich history of community support dating back to its establishment in 1934. Inspired by the vision of Chancellor E. Weymouth, Cal Farley, and Roy Pool, the club aimed to address the lack of supervised activities for boys in Amarillo. With the help of Director Ralph Dykeman, the club flourished and gained widespread acceptance. Today, known as the Maverick Boys & Girls Club of Amarillo, it continues its mission to provide a nurturing environment for at-risk youth from low-income families, helping them develop the qualities necessary to become responsible citizens.
