| Press Release

Texas real estate broker JT Haynes & co-owner/agent/wife Jamie Haynes of Triangle Realty, LLC, a digital, mobile and paperless brokerage firm (www.trianglerealtyllc.com), are pleased to announce that Shamrock, Texas, resident and REALTOR®, Sherry Palmer, contributed to the 2016 Triangle Realty First Fruits Fund.  The brokerage matched her contribution thus allowing Mrs. Palmer to contribute $1,000 to the First Baptist Church in Shamrock Texas and $600 to Snack Pak for Kids of Shamrock.

The first contribution was presented Wednesday, January 27 to two youth group members, Wes Putman and Tre Lucero, and Youth Pastor, Travis Muse. Agent, Sherry Palmer, and her husband, Connie, have been longtime members of the church and are thrilled to give back. The funds were used for the Disciple Now weekend retreat held February 17 -18 for Wheeler, Shamrock and the surrounding area. At the retreat, students from all over gathered to hear from the keynote speaker and participate in worship sessions with a band. The retreat was free to all students.

The First Baptist Church of Shamrock holds youth group every Wednesday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. All students in grades 6-12 grade are welcome to attend. You can connect with the church at shamrockfirst.com or on Facebook under First Baptist Church, Shamrock, TX.

The second donation was also presented on Wednesday, January 27 to Amanda Bell and her son, Easton. Amanda is the school nurse for Shamrock Independent School District. “Daily, I see the need for this program in our schools,” said Bell.   “We are elated to have this program helping to feed children in our area.”

Snack Pak 4 Kids (SP4K) is a weekend backpack program that began serving children at Will Rogers Elementary on Labor Day Weekend, September 2010. A Bushland couple who discovered Amarillo was the largest city west of Dallas without a weekend backpack program started the program in their kitchen serving 10 kids. The program has grown to serve over 7,000 students in 39 school districts: Abernathy, Amarillo, Borger, Booker, Bushland, Canadian, Clarendon, Clayton, NM, Cotton Center, Dalhart, Dimmitt, Dumas, Farwell, Floydada, Friona, Fritch, Hale Center, Happy, Hereford, Highland Park, Lockney, Olton, Pampa, Panhandle, Perryton, Plainview, River Road, San Antonio, Shamrock, Spearman, Stratford, Sunray, Tahoka, Texhoma, Tulia, Vega, White Deer, and Wildorado. Volunteers pack 10-12 brand new/brand name nutritious snacks in plastic bags, deliver them to the school, and place them in backpacks to be discreetly sent home each Friday. The targeted students are those who live in food insecure homes as identified by the school staff (counselors, nurses, principals, and teachers). SP4K provides a bag for each elementary student (as well as any siblings at home not old enough to attend school).
